Geekgasms PubCast #2

Hello everyone!

A slightly cut down team this week, as Dave was away and Chris was ill, while Andrew occasionally gets with the rudeness and answers his phone twice.

This week we have a bit of a natter about franchise reboots (Spiderman), comic book/novel film adaptations, wasted characters (Venom!), how much we man-love Chris Pine, what we have been playing recently (or 'wwhbpr' - which covers Assassin’s Creed 2 and then dives off into a bit of talk about reward systems in games), followed by a bit about Darksiders and it’s combat. We then dip into the retro pool with a bit of chat about the Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver series, which promptly gets us nattering about Vampire games.

We also delve a little bit into the mystery of puzzle games with regard to their evolving nature and sales (covering Battle Chess, Popcap, Puzzle Quest and everything inbetween), our oldest memories of games, and the comparative difficulty of those old school games we so fondly remember.

Of course we name drop the mega-talented Jon Keatley again too :)

Set up more as a test of how well it worked rather than a full blown podcast. We were all quite pleased with how it turned out and felt it would be a shame to consign it to the bin just because it was a little rough around the edges.
